Online Bachelors Degrees Growing in Popularity
Online courses are growing in popularity for many reasons, including the fact that they tend to be more affordable and may be attained much faster than a traditional on campus degree program. Some online Bachelors Degrees may be earned in as little as 10-24 months!
The 2010 Sloan Survey of Online Learning reports that enrollment in online programs rose by almost one million students from the prior year. Sloan surveyed more than 2,500 colleges and universities nationwide and found approximately 5.6 million students were enrolled in at least one online course in fall 2009, the most recent term for which figures are available.
"This represents the largest ever year-to-year increase in the number of students studying online," said study co-author I Elaine Allen, Co-Director of the Babson Survey Research Group and Professor of Statistics & Entrepreneurship at Babson College. "Nearly thirty percent of all college and university students now take at least one course online."
Online Bachelors Degrees are definitely a great opportunity for most students, and it is evident by the number of students that are taking advantage of online courses.
